Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions provide a private, supportive space to explore what's bringing you in. Sessions are 50 minutes and typically held weekly, though we can discuss a frequency that works for your goals and schedule. You can come to my office in Midtown, or meet by secure video from anywhere in New York State, which suits a lot of people on remote or hybrid schedules.

I work primarily with people in tech, along with clients in finance, law, and medicine, with a focus on the challenges that come with high-pressure careers:

Burnout

The deep exhaustion that comes from years of overwork. When your career starts to feel like it's running you instead of the other way around.

ADHD

Difficulty with focus, procrastination, and self-regulation. Often compensated for with brute effort, but at a real cost.

Layoffs & Job Insecurity

The waiting, the lockout, and a job search that feels like a daily performance review with no feedback.

Imposter Syndrome

The promotion you earned and can't quite believe. Working twice as hard so nobody notices the mistake.

Anxiety & Stress

Racing thoughts, constant worry, difficulty unwinding, even when you know things should be fine.

Depression

Low energy, emotional numbness, or going through the motions without feeling present in your own life.

Career & Life Transitions

Career changes, a move into management, or the gap between professional achievement and personal fulfillment.

Relationships & Self-Esteem

Difficulty connecting, recurring patterns, or a persistent sense that you're not enough despite evidence to the contrary.

Couples Therapy

Relationships bring both deep connection and real challenge. In couples therapy, we work together to improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, or simply understand each other better.

For many of my clients, the demands of a high-pressure career put significant strain on their most important relationships. Long hours, travel, emotional depletion from work. These take a real toll on the people closest to you. Couples therapy can help you reconnect, break recurring patterns, and build a stronger foundation together.

Sessions are 50 minutes and can include both partners together, or a mix of joint and individual sessions depending on what's most helpful. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many couples come in because they want to strengthen a good relationship, not just fix a broken one.

If one or both of you works in tech, finance, law, or medicine, there's more on couples therapy for demanding careers, including what insurance does and doesn't cover.

My Clinical Approach

I draw on three evidence-based frameworks, adapting to what's most helpful for each individual:

  • Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) Grounded in empathy and genuine connection as the basis for growth.
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Practical tools to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Mindfulness-based work focused on psychological flexibility and values-driven living.

Fees

Individual Therapy (50 minutes) $200
Couples Therapy (50 minutes) $250

I accept major credit cards and use a HIPAA-compliant payment system to protect your confidentiality. Sessions are eligible for HSA and FSA funds. In some cases I offer a reduced or sliding-scale fee. Please ask if cost is a concern.

What a session actually costs

Most of my clients use out-of-network benefits, and the plans common at tech companies tend to be generous. An example, using a plan that reimburses 70% once the out-of-network deductible is met:

Session fee $200
Reimbursed by your plan (70% shown) −$140
Your net cost per session $60

This is an example, not a quote. Reimbursement rates commonly run between 50% and 80% of the fee once your out-of-network deductible is met, and some plans calculate against a lower "allowed amount." Your Summary of Benefits will list this under outpatient mental health, out-of-network. If you'd rather not decode it yourself, send it to me and we'll read it together on the free consultation call.

After each session I provide a superbill, an itemized receipt with everything your insurer needs. You submit it to your plan and reimbursement comes directly to you.

Insurance & Privacy

I work exclusively on a cash-pay basis, and for many of my clients, that's a deliberate choice. Paying out of pocket means no insurance company has access to your records, your diagnosis, or even the fact that you're in therapy. Nothing is accessible to an employer, a board, or a credentialing committee.

If your company offers therapy through an employer program, it helps to know the tradeoffs. Those programs usually cap the number of sessions and assign the therapist. Working with me privately means no cap, a therapist you chose, and no record your employer can see.

If you're unsure whether your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I'm happy to walk through it during our free 15-minute consultation.
